SITE SPECIFIC
Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza
Dramatic Visit is a site-specific piece for museums.
The audience gathers at the foyer of the museum, every member gets a
script with a different role, and following the form of a dramatic
reading of a theater play, they are invited to read it from the
beginning to the end. The script itself guides the path of the visit
that is followed by the spectators who are actually guiding
themselves.
This script has been written based on comments and sentences heard
from adults and children in the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum’s rooms
and on different guided tours during the months of April, May and
June 2019; as well as from interviews made to the different
departments of the museum: conservation, restoration and education
among others. Also from conversations with the artist Javier Cruz
and the architect Uriel Fogué and the documentation consulted by
Maria Jerez from authors such as Marten Spangberg, Gilles Deleuze,
Felix Guatari, Victor I. Stoichita, Francis Bacon and Marguerite
Duras among others and others.
